In 2005, Loïc took over the family farm in Bethon, quickly replacing herbicides with plowing. Supported by Aurélie and convinced that natural winegrowing would be possible, he committed to the conversion of the field to organic winegrowing in 2009. The terroir of Champagne Barrat-Masson extends over seven hectares in organic farming, Bethon in Villenauxe-la-Grande, on the slopes of the Sézannais, with 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir. With his experience and his beliefs, Loïc practices precise, rigorous viticulture which calls for organic farming to harvest quality grapes. Controlling yields, careful monitoring of the vines throughout the wine season and adapted tools allow Loïc to react to the slightest need of the plant.
